Counseling & Guidance

The Counseling & Guidance M.A. in Education is designed to prepare students for careers working as counselors/student affairs professionals in higher education settings (Higher Education/Student Affairs Program requirements). The program is designed to meet the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Professional Preparation Commission standards.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the program occurs once a year during the spring. Required materials must be submitted to either the Cal Poly Admissions Office or the coordinator of the program. In addition, applicants undergo an interview from faculty in the program prior to admission.

Please follow all instructions in the Counseling & Guidance Applicant Instruction Letter carefully to ensure your application packet is complete. To apply to Cal Poly, go to www.csumentor.edu and submit ALL transcripts of work completed to the Cal Poly Admissions Office (TRANSCRIPTS information).
